This week’s New Favorite Poet is: Henri Cole

I have a soft spot in the poetry I like to read (and write for that matter) for both confessional (à la Sylvia Plath, Robert Lowell or Anne Sexton) and nature-inspired (Mary Oliver, Robert Frost or Louise Glück). This week’s new favorite poet, while firmly, beautifully ensconced in the latter with the poem A Half-Life, also deftly marries the two styles in his poem Homosexuality.
