Friday “Quickie”…A Haiku about Winter

Mount-Fuji-Japan

Hello Fellow Bloginistas!

I just finished this Haiku and wanted to share it with you. I tried to be mindful as much as possible to the original tenets of Japanese Haiku, but in that I don’t speak Japanese, I pulled some things I felt would translate over well. For instance, I used a Kigo (the word “Winter”), and the concept of kiru and kireji, but the English language concept of 5-7-5. I hope you enjoy it!

Cold & Lonely

Winter is nothing
but loneliness. Even the trees’
friends the leaves are gone.
