“Dunes”, National Poetry Month Post #1

I wrote this short prose poem while thinking about attaining goals and what it’s like to finally meet them. I immediately saw reaching a beach from over the dunes (where you often can’t actually see the ocean until you climb over). Enjoy!

The dunes seem endless and are crawling with grass (those thin razors, everywhere) that threatens to keep me from my goal. After much struggle, I reach through to the soft, soft sand and on to the blue, blue water that stretches, expansively, like the mind of a genius, in all directions.

p.s. I am now 1/30th of the way to this month’s goal of 30 in 30! ROTFL! 😉
